Innsbruck of Austria was the next destination on our bus tour.
Other than visiting the palace, we also visited the viewing tower.
We had a great view of the surrounding above the town.

Update: From this view you can actually see one of the most famous landmark in Innsbruck, the Goldenes Dachl, otherwise known as the golden roof. The roof is not made of gold, but out of fire-gilded copper tiles, all 2657 of them. It’s from this balcony that the Emperor Maximillian I and his wife Bianca will watch events on the streets below.

Dachau Concentration camp - A sad lesson in history where we learnt about the terrible ordeal these prisoners had to endure at the Nazi concentration camp. This picture shows the location where the line of prisoner barracks used to be.

Fun Fact Friday - The camp is the longest running one, that started in March 1933 and lasted till its liberation by US forces in April 1945.

At this lovely town in Switzerland, we saw this beautiful dog.
It was a Saint Bernard, I was told, a gentle giant I thought.
I can’t help it, he’s so cuddly so I gave it a hug.

Update: The keg positioned under the neck of the Saint Bernard is rumored to hold some type of alcohol intended for providing warmth to individuals in need in the chilly mountains. These dogs are typically rescue dogs utilized in the Swiss Alps. However, the keg is more of a legend than reality, as it is believed that the concept of this keg beneath the neck of the Saint Bernard originated from a painting depicting these magnificent animals in a rescue mission, with stories of alcohol in the keg emerging later. Therefore, the actual contents of the keg could be any item used for first aid.

Chapel Bridge - One of the most iconic sights of Lucerne, this wooden bridge forms a beautiful connection between the present to its rich history as well as visitors from around the world through its paintings.

Fun Fact Friday - The Chapel bridge is named as such after the St. Peter’s chapel which sits on the right bank of the river. It was also originally connected to another chapel that at present time is no longer in existence.

Klomp workshop - When we visited Amsterdam on a tour many years ago, we had a chance to learn how a wooden clog was made in a Klomp workshop and its history!

Fun Fact Friday - Although these clogs are a symbol of the Netherlands, there aren’t many people wearing them anymore. The most purchases of these wooden footwear are taken up by tourists! Some farmers do wear them of course, and it is told that these Klomp are comparable to the toughness of modern day safety shoes!

Salisbury Cathedral - Salisbury is the town to get into for trips to the Stonehenge. While there, we visited this magnificent cathedral, our first experience of cathedrals of this size. As I find out now, it is still Britains’ tallest cathedral.

My week is 💩 . Work is ramping up and it seems like there’s so much left to do. And soon I will also be taking a break from IG in November when peak activities are expected.

Just over the weekend, the F1 happened in Singapore and disappointingly, Ferrari is nowhere on the podium. On the other hand, McLaren dominated the entire race and had two positions on the podium, I thought it was quite surprising (I wasn’t following the entire season, how did they become so good overnight? 🤔). Thinking about Singapore’s aspirations towards full electric cars by 2030, does that also spell the end of F1? What do you think?

This place is not the zoo, although it is in close proximity to it! This is our Bird Paradise, opened for slightly over a year now and is the replacement for the Jurong Bird Park which was originally situated in the west side of Singapore. By moving the parks near the zoo in Mandai, the area which already consists the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, and River Wonders and a yet to open Rainforest Park, will become the wildlife precinct of Singapore. With a bigger land space, the design of this bird park made of various areas of walk In aviaries, allowing more flight freedom for the birds and also a possible closer view for the visitors.

Here we see a circular rainbow… or at least what I thought I saw. 😂 Fun Fact Friday - Rainbows viewed from the sky will appear as a circle. This is because when viewed from the ground, our views are blocked by Earth itself, leaving the unblocked bow. However, when view from the air, under the right angles, you can actually see the full circle. The reason behind why rainbows are circular can shortly be summarized by the light refracting off spherical water droplets. My week is 👌. Recently I have been quite obsessed with a mobile game and spending quite some time and money playing it. This was made worse with opponents declaring war on our alliances which then meant more time to protect against the aggressors. Have you had any obsessions that sound like a waste of time like these?
