We were out on our own and so we rented a scooter to go around. Our first monastery required us to do a little climbing using the old steps.A picture nearby depicted how it looked like long time ago.Holy Monastery of St. Nicholas Anapausas from the bottomThe view as we made our way upwards. On the inside, looks quite cosy.A more modern kind of pulley system. They even had an elevatorA little bell place built on another little peak.A beautiful view of the Kalambaka town. Another view with the dramatic peaks before making our way to the next monastery, Roussanou Monastery Steps to the highest part of Roussanou Monastery. Some of the architecture designs within.Wooden doors, probably since the first time it was built.View of the garden within. Quite a compact place. At the bottom of the stairs, this was where the climb to the Roussanou Monastery begins. View en-route to Varlaam Monastery. This was the entrance to the last of the 6 monasteries, Varlaam Monastery. The view around the area, with Varlaam on the left and the Great Meteoron on the right. Another panorama from the main building, a view of Roussanou Monastery.
